About Me
Hello! I'm Emily and I'm a student at Ohio University studying music education with a choral emphasis. I'm currently involved with professional organizations on campus such as CNAfME and ACDA. I'm involved with multiple clubs on campus such as The Ohio Women's Ensemble, Choral Union, and Ohio Learning Communities. My goal in life is to help people of all ages realize their musical ability and in doing so, fulfilling their full potential as a well-rounded, emotional, talented, and capable human being.
“Music has given me a way of expressing my feelings and my thoughts, and has also given me a way understanding more about life. For example, as you play together in a symphony orchestra, you can appreciate that each musician has something fine to offer. Each one is different, though, and you each have a different "song to sing." When you sing together, you make one voice. That's true of all endeavors, not just musical ones. Finding ways to harmonize our uniqueness with the uniqueness of others can be the most fun -- and the most rewarding -- of all.

Athens Community Music School:
Assistant Music Director for grades 4-9

2017 - Today
Ohio Women's Ensemble:
Section Leader: Leading a once-weekly rehearsal as a soprano I section leader. This includes warm-ups, part learning, note and rhythm accuracy, and articulation cleaning of college-age women.

Treasurer 2018-2019: Managing travel costs for a group of 80+ for large events, Fundraising, Merchandise ordering/processing, sending money orders, and working with the university and our alumni association to ensure we have a strong financial backing

Executive Advisor 2019-2020: Overseeing the executive board and collaborating with our academic advisor for seamless communication.
2018 - Today
The Picardy Thirds: Musical Director and Vice-president of an on-campus contemporary a cappella group. This job entails leading warm-ups, part learning, note and rhythm accuracy, as well as fostering emotional connections within the group through music. It also includes choosing repertoire and creating setlists for different performances and figuring stage logistics.
2016
Wauseon High School: I was a Senior conductor for the WHS annual Spring Arts Festival. I spent time every week starting in March with the top ensemble teaching and directing Gather at the River by Susan LaBarr. We performed in late May - video in the "Photos" tab.
